JASON Natural Care
I’ve been working with the JASON brand for just over a year now, overseeing their marketing and PR. You can read my review of their Aloe Vera Hair Care here. It’s a great brand to work with, especially since they reformulated their products to remove a few less than desirable ingredients and gave their packaging an injection of life with vivid colours and beautiful watercolour illustrations to represent the ingredients. JASON have been around since 1959 and were founded in the USA. JASON Brightening Apricot Scrubble has been part of the range since 1959, although I am sure it has seen some reformulations during that time!
What’s in JASON’s Brightening Apricot Scrubble?
JASON Brightening Apricot Scrubble is a lovely product to use. The formulation is a mild, gentle, soap-free scrub with a quite thick consistency with very fine grains of Walnut Powder to gently exfoliate and polish away impurities and dead skin cells to reveal fresh, glowing skin. Another active ingredient the JASON Brightening Apricot Scrubble contains is Apricot Oil which has several benefits when used in skincare products-
- it balances oil production and is great if your skin is affected by hormone imbalance (often manifested in a spotty chin)
- it contains Essential Fatty Acids to maintain moisture balance, tone and firm
- it also contains Vitamin A and E which are anti-ageing antioxidants that soothe and nourish the skin
Also contained in the formula are Aloe Vera Barbadensis Juice, Chamomile and Calendula, ingredients known for their soothing and healing properties, and nutrient-dense Jojoba Seed Oil, which nourishes as well as moisturises the skin. It’s the combination of all these ingredients which make JASON Brightening Apricot Scrubble mild enough to use every day. This product offers a deep pore cleanse and washes clean away leaving no residue behind. If you are a fan of the old school St Ives Apricot Scrubble, I urge you to do your skin a favour and try this natural alternative. I promise you that you won’t regret it! I have been using this product for three months at least three times a week, sometimes daily and although it is approaching the end there is still a fair amount left, that should keep me going for a few more weeks.
JASON’s use of Parfum
One ingredient listed on the pack is “Parfum (Fragrance)” which can often mask a whole host of undesirable ingredients, including phthalates, but JASON state that “generally our [fragrances] are proprietary blends of natural essential oils. Occasionally we employ some synthetic ingredients but none of our fragrances contain toxic preservatives, phthalates or animal byproducts”. In other words, the Fragrances are deemed “safe”. The inclusion of synthetic ingredients may mean these products aren’t for anyone, but for me as long as they are safe then it washes with me (and I wash with them!)
